The website is being called the Etsy for people with disabilities. Among the many services that it provides is a marketplace featuring all sorts of jewelry, tools, crafts and more that were made by people with disabilities.
The website also hosts radio shows that focus on disability issues as well as resources for those who suffer from them. It’s a great place for those who want to support people with disabilities to shop. It is also a great place for those who suffer from a disability to earn money doing what they love.
Helping People Find Work
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, unemployment rates are higher for persons with a disability than for those with no disability among all educational attainment groups. Additionally, employed persons with a disability are more likely to be self-employed than those with no disability.
This means that there are countless people with disabilities working for themselves. While it is hard to know exactly which industries these people are working for, if you do a bit of research, you can find and support them.
Who Will You Be Buying From This Holiday Season?
As we head into the holiday season, you will likely be looking to find the perfect gifts for your close family members and friends. While you are out shopping for gifts, will you be looking at who you are buying from, as well?
