The Celebration of Moms Continues with Best Mom on Wheels 2013

Two weeks ago, many of us celebrated Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is a national holiday that started back during the beginning of the 1900’s.  While some complain that the day has become overly commercialized like so many other holidays, Mother’s Day still holds a special place in our hearts.

Though the day has now passed, you can still be a part of the celebration of great mothers.

Best Mom on Wheels 2013

Every year, the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation holds a contest called “The Best Mom on Wheels”.  If someone wants to honor a mom who is living with paralysis, they enter her name and share some of her story.

The contest looks for moms who show “dedication, love, encouragement, and goodwill on a regular basis”.  From there, 10 moms are chosen.  Those ten moms are then voted on by the public.  The mom with the most votes wins.

The 2013 contest is currently in the voting stage.  Between May 20-30, all are welcomed to vote for the mom they feel best represents the virtues listed early.  By visiting the official website here, you can view each of the 10 moms’ stories and see a picture of them with their families.

We think this is a great opportunity to give encouragement to a mom who goes above and beyond the call of duty.

However, regardless of who wins, we have no doubt that all of the mother’s who have been entered into this contest are fantastic who have shown endless love to their families.
